Ergys Krisiko (b. 1977) is a visionary artist whose practice is an elaborate synthesis of ambitious staged installations, evocative sculptures, immersive photography, all meticulously integrated within natural landscapes. His interventions are underpinned by a rigorous investigation of materials such as stone, wood, and resin, which he employs to probe the intersection and limitations of t heoretical conceptions of the natural world. In art as in architecture, caves have always inspired unique ways of imagining the world, shaping concepts that are both mental and geophysical, naturalistic, and mythological. Krisiko’s academic foundation was laid at the esteemed Academy of Arts in Albania, where he earned an MA in Sculpture and Arts, and he now imparts his expertise as a professor in Department of Ceramics.
